Granada 0-3 Barcelona: Suarez hat-trick clinches Liga title
The Uruguayan was the star for Luis Enrique's side as they got the win they needed to secure a second consecutive domestic crown in the final game of the campaign
Barcelona have defended their Liga title after a hat-trick from Luis Suarez secured a 3-0 victory over Granada on Saturday.
Real Madrid's victory away to Deportivo La Coruna was not enough as Barca sealed a comfortable victory to achieve a final points tally of 91 - one more than their fierce rivals - and claim a 24th top-flight crown.
Suarez tapped in Jordi Alba's low cross to give Luis Enrique's men the lead, becoming the first player other than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to score 38 goals in a single Liga season since Hugo Sanchez in 1989-90.
Any tension within the Barca camp was eased even further when Suarez headed in from close range just before the break, although they had Marc-Andre ter Stegen to thank for a strong save shortly after half-time which maintained their comfortable advantage.

Anthony Martial is the only player in the squad to have reached double-figures in terms of top-flight goals this season, and Van Gaal knows their struggles in the attacking third are their greatest challenge to overcome.
The manager has been criticised for a dull brand of football during his time at the helm but has assured work is being done to make United more formidable in front of goal.

After 16 members of the Liga giants' supporters club lost their lives in an attack in Iraq, the club will don black armbands against Deportivo
Real Madrid will honour members of one their supporters clubs who died in an attack in Iraq when the play their final match of the season on Saturday.
The tragedy comes just weeks after 26 people were killed and a further 71 injured at a football stadium in Baghdad after a suicide bomber attacked an amateur football match.
16 members of a Real supporters club were killed in the attack in the town of Balad, near the city of Samarra on Friday.
Madrid face Deportivo La Coruna at the Estadio Riazor and will wear black armbands in memory of their fans that lost their lives.
"Real Madrid deeply regrets the terrible attack in Iraq which today saw 16 members of a Real Madrid supporters club lose their lives and which has also left over 20 injured," a statement read.
"The club expresses its great sadness and offers its regards and condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
"The Real Madrid players will tomorrow wear symbolic black armbands as a sign of their mourning and respect.
"Football and sport shall always be spaces in which to come together and in which harmony and peace reign and with which no form of barbaric terrorism will be able to compete.

PSG sign George Weah's son Timothy until 2018
Ballon d'Or-winner George Weah's son, Timothy, has been awarded a youth contract until 2018 by his former club Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris Saint-Germain have announced United States youth international Timothy Weah, son of former star George, has agreed a two-year youth contract with the club.
Having impressed while representing PSG's Under-17 side, Weah has agreed to a deal which ties him to the Ligue 1 champion until 2018.
George represented the club from the French capital between 1992 and 1995, winning the Ballon d'Or for the latter year shortly after moving to AC Milan.
The former Liberia international expressed his delight at seeing his son, a dual national of France and the U.S., join one of his former sides.

The star striker subsequently played no part as Uruguay failed to defend their Copa America crown in Chile last year, with the hosts eliminating them at the quarter-finals en route to claiming their first title.
Suarez will be hoping to carry his impressive club form - he has scored 56 goals for Barcelona this season - into the tournament in the United States, and is set to link up with Edinson Cavani in attack once again as they go in search of a 16th continental title.
Having been included in the 35-man preliminary squad, Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela has not made the cut, with Gaston Silva and Emiliano Velazquez also missing out.
Cruzeiro midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta is a notable omission having been a member of the group for the 2015 edition. The decision will likely please his club with the Campeonato Brasileiro set to run throughout the Copa America.

West Ham United marked their departure from Upton Park after 112 years with a thrilling victory that may have ended Manchester United's chances of Champions League qualification.
Louis van Gaal's side knew victory here and at home to Bournemouth this weekend would secure a top-four place - but this loss means Manchester City are two points clear of them going into their final game at Swansea City.
The visitors' team coach arrived late and was attacked by Hammers fans as it made its way into the stadium, causing the kick-off to be delayed.
When the action got under way West Ham dominated and should have led by more than Diafra Sakho's goal at the break.

Hummels to sign for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels.
Germany defender Hummels has agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions and will re-join them on July 1 for an undisclosed fee, subject to a medical.
Dortmund announced late last month that their skipper had informed them of his desire to follow the path of Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski by swapping Signal Iduna Park for the Allianz Arena.
And both sides confirmed on Tuesday that the deal has been done, with Hummels to return to his boyhood club, who he left for Dortmund in 2008.
